LUCCA 75 Atom - Impressions after one week

Hello, I've had mine about three weeks - there was a bit of a learning curve for me. I had trouble with adjusting the time of the grind (it's linked to the weight of the beans), and the fineness of the grind. I had a Clive tech on the phone helping me set it up. Once my beans were dialed

Macap M4 grinder 16 years old - replace with?

I'm in the same boat. I bought a Macap M5 around the same time as you. I just ordered a Lucca 75, thinking it would be an upgrade from the Macap, but now I'm having 2nd thoughts. My Macap works fine, but sometimes the when I turn it on, it just hums, and after I clean out all the beans

Upgrading from a Macap M4 to a Eureka/Lucca Atom 75?

I currently have a stepless/doser Macap M5 that I purchased back around 2006ish. I'd like to get a new grinder (with a hopper) - not into SD. The Eureka/Lucca Atom 75 looks interesting. Is the Clive offering Lucca worth the extra price? Does the 75 have a track record as far as reliability/durability?

La Marzocco GS3 or La Spaziale Vivaldi II or...

Ann, just as an additional comment to the actual "plumbing" of the Vivaldi. I originally thought that it would require a plumber and such, but found out that all it required was to tap into the water line that goes to my refrigerator, it took less than 5 minutes for me to do it myself. It was easy!

A few hints from Heather Perry

I'm curious as to what Heather mentions about dosing - how many grams in a double basket? I read somewhere that she recently started down dosing from 20 grams to between 12-16

Getting to know the Izzo Alex

BTD (!), I'm considering the exact setup as you - macap and alex. I'm very nervous about pulling the trigger. Kind of like having a Ferrari in your garage and afraid to drive it
