Easiest way to connect thermocouples to iPad?

Thanks! Bought the ThermaQ WiFi and set it up last night. Looks very good so far. Not tried the Roastmaster app yet, but should get a chance to try this weekend. I also use thermoco9uples a fair bit when cooking, including measuring temperature in a wood fired oven. Should I use the software that co...

Easiest way to connect thermocouples to iPad?

I have a Quest M3 with thermocouples. Until now I have hooked this up to a datalogger which in turn is connected to a computer. The datalogger and laptop are pretty much both dead now though and I need a different solution... Would like to attach the thermocouples to some simple device that can tran...

Ethiopia and the ECX

After 2011 it became quite hard to source quality Ethiopian coffee. The past two years I have been buying most of my coffee instead of roasting it though, so I am curious to hear if things have changed? I see that my local roasters now stock decent Ethiopian coffee again, but it is pretty much alway...

My Heart vs. My brain, GS/3, Slayer, Speedster musings...

I've had the pleasure of using the Slayer for about a month now. Very happy with the performance. Previous machine was an Alex Duetto. I drink a lot of light roasted espresso and the Slayer is wicked .-) Go for it!

Tim Wendlebow Colombia Finca Taman SO Espresso

To my knowledge TW never said anything about the beans keeping for 3 months in the bag in unopened condition. If you translate the text on the back of the bag in your picture it only sais 3 weeks from roast date. TW has been very clear on storage previously. He also said that the difference between ...

Quest M3 roast profiles

It's been a while since my last roast and I've lost my roast log due to a computer change. I used to have a halfdecent feel for the machine but now I am suddenly left without much reference (and a failing memory, hehe). I bought some Guatemala Antigua Cafe Pulcal from SM. Anyone got a decent startin...

La Marzocco GS/3 or Slayer one group?

Pulled the trigger on the Slayer. Yellow/orange powder coat with Peruvian Walnut and powder coated silver X. All were standard options (except custom powder coat which is only complimentary now during the pre-order phase). The standard X has just recently been changed to a powder coated silver that ...
