ECM Synchronika dripping from grouphead when off (direct plumb)
Hi All, thank you for the replies. The was an upgrade to a new Synchronika. After these replies and a quick and helpful chat with the clive coffee people, I am sad / happy to report that this was straightforward, tired user error of having the lever between closed and part open for pre-infusing as K...

ECM Synchronika dripping from grouphead when off (direct plumb)
Hi, fairly newbie here. I recently upgraded to an ECM Synchronika after a year+ with a Gaggia Classic. Got the direct plumb + drain set up last night (by a real plumber, not me). For the first few weeks the machine was running fine from the reservoir. After draining the reservoir, switching the swit...

Auber PID / Gaggia Classic may have overheated and "burned out"
Thank you. Will check the thermal fuse on the Gaggia first. Would the SSR of the PID really burn out just by keeping the machine warm over a few hours?

Auber PID / Gaggia Classic may have overheated and "burned out"

As in, temperature was set, changed, maintained for pulling shots, as well as steam. (I am not testifying to the qual...

Newbie frustrations: Fast and/or very gassy shots
Point taken on not messing with variables. Across about two hours of tinkering, I discovered and adjusted a few things. At 1A on the Vario, I still pulled >2oz in 15 seconds with 16g. Adjusted the Vario, still pulled 1.5oz. Got a bit more aggressive, and then gave myself an online lesson is cleaning...

Newbie frustrations: Fast and/or very gassy shots
On the naked portafilter, is there any specific reason against using it? I have read it's a good tool for feedback during the extraction

Newbie frustrations: Fast and/or very gassy shots
Thank you for all the quick and thoughtful replies. I have tried to do most with the same bean, though the place is not too close to my house. I will try tonight to 1) choke the machine on the 1a setting. Just so I'm clear, this means absolutely nothing comes through? How many seconds do you want
