When I made a quick espresso while tidying up after supper I turned on my machine as usual to get everything warmed up. After a few minutes the boiler reached top temperature and at that time some steam started coming through the group (this is usual) but next the machine started making noise like a...

Time from cold until ready to brew
Well I only have any experience with my little Delonghi Italia but I am able to get my machine up and running in about 5-6 mins . If I leave it for too long as is suggested for other machines it REALLY heats up and starts purging steam like a Caliope on amphetamines with just about as much noise

A huge bang when removing portafilter
Wow thanks everyone , That sounds exactly like what happened . Interesting that it has never happened before ,I have had this machine for over 10 years without the "sneeze" . I guess that is due to not having a good grinder till recently . So a little more patience and a coarser grind . Thanks again

A huge bang when removing portafilter
A huge bang happened when I tried to remove the portafilter from my Delonghi Caffe Italia . I went to remove it after making a double cappa ,it did seem to have a longer dwell time than usual but I just thought that it was due to using a new bean and had too fine a grind . When I
