Coos Bay (Southern OR) meet-up, after action report
Not far from LV, I think, I is Colorado River Coffee Company. I've liked their standard espresso roast as a comfort coffee since I discovered them on a trip

Help! I'm downgrading! La Marzocco GS3 to....
Because i could not upgrade my electric entrance to 240 when I downsized into an apartment I loaned my Speedster to another family member and used a Breville 920 for a couple of years. I found it to be a very capable machine at a good price. Not sure of long term durability (replaced once under warr...

"Bouncing" brew pressure on Breville Dual Boiler
I'm on my second 920 which is a warranty replacement. This one bounces whereas the failed one did not. No changes in coffee or prep. I believe the problem is in the machine. Breville says it's normal, but have observed machines in the store that do not do this, so do wonder about defective parts

Looking for best value Single Dose Espresso Grinder
I have a Versalab which I've had since they first came out. I have had no issues with it at all, grinding several shots a day. Single shot, no retention, excellent distribution. It's worked very well for me. Go to the Versalab threads here. You'll find a few dissatisfied users - but mostly people wh...

Double boiler espresso machine selection advice please.
When I moved into an apartment and couldn't direct-connect my Speedster I purchased the Breville DB. I second drgary's suggestion. I have the 920 which does brew a very good cup of espresso. It takes some "fiddling" to get things right, but you should get very good results with the grinder you are c...

Double Boiler Espresso Machines with Stainless Boiler?
I'm in an apartment, where, for the moment I'm not able to install the Speedster. Have been using the Breville 920 and am finding it to be quite a capable machine. With a good grinder it's possible to get a very good cup. I bought it on the recommendation of a friend who has owned several other higher

Rocket R58 purchase advice
I have an old (much less a new) commercial lever (a new one could be bought in this price range). I also have a commercial double boiler machine which is not fussy at all. The lever is less fussy than that. Doesn't take a whole lot to learn either. I don't think your premise is accurate

Redbird coffees -- too dark?
Red Bird is my "go to" coffee. I order 5 pounds of Blue Jaguar every two weeks and plan the orders so that it can rest at least five days. It is at its peak from seven to about fourteen days. I'm also partial to Red Bird espresso and order it as an alternate. Brews fine in
