Downgrading the M3 grinder
Here's a first world problem for you. The GS/3 is showing her age, springs a new leak when I look at her, and visits my repairman's bench as often as she's home. While she's gone, we take out the Breville DB. However, the portafilter holder on the M3 does not fit the Breville, so grinding is awkward...

La Marzocco GS/3 portafilter popping off
The gasket I use is this 6mm one: {link} Where can I get a thinner one? Also interesting that this occurred after two years of use. I was under the impression that a thicker gasket would become necessary over time

La Marzocco GS/3 portafilter popping off
About a year ago, I ordered new components for my machine: a new LM naked PF, VST baskets, LM group screen, and gaskets. I purchased the thinnest LM gaskets from EspressoParts NW, the same ones I have been switching out every 6 months or so throughout the three years I've had the machine. It never f...

Do your family / housemates use your espresso machine?
My husband is SO proud of his espresso-making skills--which owe something to the fact that I have adjusted the boiler temp and the grind setting before he even gets near it. His education has even embraced changing the grinder when making a decaf Americano at night, but I have marks on the Versalab ...

The Waring grinder timer is back
Ernie, I'm trying to laugh here. So hard it hurts, apparently. Mea culpa for any unintended consequences. Mary ....slinks off into the sunset, never to be seen again

The Waring grinder timer is back
Marshall, you're one of my coffee heroes, so don't let illegitimi non carborundum. I have to think so long and so hard before posting here that I rarely do it. Of course, I have no wisdom to offer at this point though I have more than enough interest. I expect to see a post shortly on the worthiness

HB Formatted for a small screen device?
I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia (made by HTC, btw) which uses WinMo. I haven't tried Opera Mini yet, which I hear is good. But using the pre-installed Opera Mobile browser is not too painful. If you double click on the screen, you get a resized & proportional screen. Just set your font to the size tha...

I appreciate the warm comments. No need to worry about losing concentration, though. Those trees in their seasonal glory aren't even visible during my coffee drinking hours. And as usual in life they come with a down side--bags and bags of leaves to be gathered every weekend and blisters from raking...

Last year, my photo featured Rocky and Silvia. {image} {image} It's all very tasty and cozy in my corner of the coffee world. The only upgrade I'm planning is a new SS steam arm when it becomes available. Mary
