QUALITY filter grinders

I'm not sure why that is, it may be that when I swapped the original burrs in my Flat to the Shuriken SWs, I haven't got the alignment right. However, the espresso is really good out of it so I'm not messing any further with it. But in terms of grind consistency, this is what I get from the Flat:

QUALITY filter grinders

I was in the same situation until recently. While I'm happy with the espresso I get from my Monolith Flat, I always felt that the brew I get from it is lacking in clarity and is over-extracted due to the amount of fines. I ended up getting a manual grinder, I was leaning towards Comandante but after...

Basic basic: Americano or Coffee

If you enjoy americanos then by all means, go the espresso way. I'm the same, most days I preffer americanos or long black (double shot americano). On occasions I do try filter/brew coffee and I enjoy it but it not the same. Like everyone said before, a good grinder is key. A good manual grinder may...

Baratza Sette 270 quality issues been resolved yet?

Unfortunately my experience with Sette 270 hasn't been great so far. I've had it for 6 months out of which it has been out for repairs for 2 month. I experienced grind setting slipping so I had to shim it twice. After that one day it started rattling really loud so off it went for repairs. Luckily t...

Why I never hear about caffeine here!?

I couldn't agree less with you and I think quite a lot of the active users on this forum are the same. I had weeks I haven't touched coffee at all as I didn't have access to good coffee. If I would only have access to instant coffee starting tomorrow, I would give up coffee for good without a second

Spicy & flat flavor for Ethiopian DP coffee

I think you meant turning point. In regards to the OP's roasts curves, to me the RoR looks pretty flat towards the end which sugests baking. I struggled with DP African coffees in the beginning until I read somewhere that the way to go is to give it a boost of energy (heat) right before FC. I tried

Londinium Distribution Tool Measurements?

Judging from a picture of the tool next to a ruller from CoffeeForums, the loops seem to be 5 mm in diameter. Wire gauge maybe 1 mm, 8 cm in length. Seems to use something similar to {link}

Is AB really as good as AA grade?

Personally I didn't find any correlation between larger bean size and better coffee. There are even some people considering that Kenya AB is better than AA ({link})

Aillio Bullet and Artisan

John, Bullet and RoastTime are actually working as expected. It's Artisan I'm having troubles with. My guess is that Artisan hasn't been updated to (also) use the new Bullet USB drivers. From the luck of responses it looks like there aren't many Bullet owners that updated their software and are usin...

Aillio Bullet and Artisan

I recently upgraded the RoastTime software for my Bullet roaster to the latest Windows version (2.0.7). The software installed a new version of the USB drivers as well. Now Artisan (1.5) is unable to connect to the Bullet, it says the roaster is not connected. RoastTime can see the Bullet without is...
