Cheap fix for La Marzocco GS3 steam lever problem (but not for us)
Genius. I too have felt the pain of the steam lever re-build (and I think it'll need it again sometime soon). Alas, if I lived closer I would darken your door and learn the ways of this magic! Happy Holidays from A2

La Marzocco GS3 OPV Replacement
Hi there, I think you're referring to the steam boiler vacuum breaker, not the OPV (which sits in the silver canister/catch can, mid-machine). Peppersass has an excellent tutorial of installation which shows good picturtes the angle he achieved: "Updating the La Marzocco GS/3 vacuum breaker" I've do...

Frustration trying to purchase a Mahlkonig K30 Vario
Resolution post. I returned grinder #2--the one with a high shot count on arrival--directly to Mahlkonig USA. They paid shipping. Grinder #3 was then sent to me and arrived new. It had all of the correct packaging, accessories, documentation, and "remove before use" stickers in place. 1 single shot ...

Frustration trying to purchase a Mahlkonig K30 Vario
I hope that it's all sorted at this point. The vendor has been professional and helpful from the very first moment, and the manufacturer has been polite as well. I don't want to give the vendor's name to the board because people may remember them in a negative light due to the frustration of this po...

Frustration trying to purchase a Mahlkonig K30 Vario
Hi all, Update on the grinder purchase: I was able to speak to Gary Horne, who is the head of Mahlkonig USA. He stood pat with what he told the vendor: he cannot imagine that the shot count is that high, as this particular grinder has never been out of the warehouse. He's asked me to send the

Frustration trying to purchase a Mahlkonig K30 Vario
Hi Jim, Yes, these are also some of my thoughts, particularly when I tell myself not to worry about it. I guess it'd be like buying a new car and having it arrive with 300 miles on it. Probably doesn't make a difference--it'll be driven for more than 100,000. But you paid for it to be new. And

Frustration trying to purchase a Mahlkonig K30 Vario
I certainly feel the same way--that's part of my frustration. We'll see how it plays out. I think that if Mahlkonig wont' work with me, it'll go back through the vendor, plain and simple. They've been good to work with--I don't think that will be a problem

Frustration trying to purchase a Mahlkonig K30 Vario
Thanks, Wookie--agreed on all points. The good news is that I've been calm and patient throughout--I'm proud of that. The vendor has been helpful, but yes--time to go up the chain at their company to get it resolved if Malhkonig is not willing to help directly. This is the hardest four-figure purcha...

Frustration trying to purchase a Mahlkonig K30 Vario
Thanks to everyone for the advice--very helpful and I really do appreciate it. At present, the vendor asked me to call the Mahlkonig USA directly. I'll try to speak to them and explain the situation to see if we can work something out. Part of me is angry for being shipped a not-new machine. Part
