What Size of Bags of Coffee Are Best For You?

Hi, I'm a fan of 16 - 12oz. The trend toward 10oz (and sub 10oz!) bags is a problem of shrinkflation. Especially when measurement units on packaging are changed such that a former 12oz bag becomes a 300g bag. I get that specialty coffee prices are rising but hiding price increases in shrinking bags ...

[SOLD] Quickmill Andreja Premium (SF Bay Area)

Help me find a home for my daily driver! Originally purchased from Chris Coffee 10 years ago, I've pulled 2 shots a day over the entire life of the machine. The machine has been routinely backflushed with cafiza and also descaled every year. The machine was overhauled at Chris Coffee 5 years ago. Th...

E61 mushroom O-ring dimensions

Does anyone know the dimensions of an E61 mushroom o-ring? I'm having a bit of an unusual problem. I recently descaled my machine and decided to replace the teflon seals and o-ring in the grouphead. I purchased a re-build kit and all went well until I tried to reinstall the mushroom. With the new o-...

Wanted: long term reliability reports

Andreja premium purchased from Chris Coffee nearly 10 years ago now. Component replacement (capacitor) on the controller board last year. Full service with Chris Coffee in 2015. Have only replaced incidental parts beyond that (group head gasket, water tank floats). Very happy

Andreja Premium - brewhead doesn't warm fully

Here is an intermediate update. I called the service group at Chris' Coffee and they suggested checking for scale. I pulled the mushroom and found essentially no scale or other debris in the gicleur screen. So this doesn't seem to be the problem. However, the brew valve seals and o-ring on the mushr...

Andreja Premium - brewhead doesn't warm fully

Hi, Ok! After four years of daily use I've run into my first problem that I'm not sure how to diagnose. I have my machine on a timer and under normal circumstances, the brewhead reaches 220 degrees by the time I'm ready to use it each morning (2 hour warm up). However, recently the brewhead has

Leak from OPV tubing (again), need solution

Hi, Same thing with my Andreja! Some types of tubing are much more prone to axial splitting especially if it is not trimmed perfectly flush when it it pushed onto a fitting. You may have some success using a brand new razor blade to make a new cut. I ultimately went to Home Depot and purchased a

Quickmill Andreja Premium - slowing temperature rebound

Hi, I'm back with info and a call for more info. I've descaled my machine again and not found that it has improved things at all for me. I was a bit skeptical that I've got any serious scale since when I pulled the mushroom during my first descaling adventure, I didn't see even a hint of
