Assuming that you are talking about interior fittings i.e. they don't have a lacquer clear coat & are solid brass, not brass plated.. then you can use a jeweler's rouge (fine abrasive paste) to buff out superficial scratches. Two-way Lucifer valve drips - replace spring?

How did the o-ring(s) look? I understand that more spring tension could help, but there is usually an o-ring in there that actually makes the seal. So.. if the valve guide looked good, I'd try replacing the solenoid o-ring(s) & that will probably fix the leak

A flare fitting is a metal to metal seal of two precision surfaces. The nut just holds the two sealing surfaces together. So being loose or misaligned are likely causes. Is it a flare or compression fitting? If you take fitting apart, you can probably discern why it's leaking. You may need to remove some scale or replace a damaged compression ring. If it is a scored flare, then the best solution would be to solder a new mushroom cap on the copper line, etc
