Beware of the Doghouse
Isn't this forum the Doghouse? Hey Dan, you'll never get out - you're stuck down here like the rest of us! A friend of mine bought his wife an electric shaver. I never heard from him again

Used Mazzer Super Jolly Cleaning
Look at that grinder case! ...and people don't believe me when I tell them a Mazzer can take a direct hit from a stinger missile All kidding aside, it doesn't matter if that Maz took a nasty spill off a counter - I wouldn't be surprised if it works perfectly. Good luck with the cleaning, it should

Dalla Corte Mini - Second Look
Nice looking machine inside and out. The size is the most attractive part about it for me. ...guess I'm the only one who likes the looks Anyways, can't wait to read more about this little wonder

Possibly upgrading to double boiler
Those are all nice machines but I'm here to defend the Mazzer Mini E. You guys know he's talking about the doserless model, right? I know Dan knows since he mentioned it's overpriced for the neatness factor but the rest of you have to realize that doserless grinders are a whole different animal. Whe...

Macap M4 Stepless vs. Compak K3 Touch
Hi guys, I own both of these grinders as well as a Mazzer Type B. Each one is a totally different animal. My favorite one by far is the Mazzer but the Compak does make for a nicer espresso grinder than the MACAP. I use the latter for bulk grinding and press coffee which the Compak is lame for. As

Temperature Offset On New La Spaziale Vivaldi II
It would be whatever the volumetric dosing is set at for a double (your 2 oz assumption is correct). That's exactly the same readings I was getting with my Scace last year on my units. Same here, Ian - Two warming shots brings the group up to the perfect temp

GeneCafe down, should I buy a Hottop?
I would fix the Gene considering how young it is. I have both those roasters in addition to the Behmor and the iRoar2. If you had a Hottop, we wouldn't be having this conversation

La Spaziale Vivaldi II with Preinfusion
I'm wondering if we'll see a visual difference if the one of the shot buttons is programmed for just a few seconds - that way the difference in preinfusion settings might show up beneath the basket. Perhaps a difference in the coffee beads that start at the beginning of a shot might tell us somethin...

La Spaziale Vivaldi II with Preinfusion
Very nice indeed, Ian. I can't wait to give a whirl. Like Chas mentions, I think many current VII owners will not be used to the pump not firing right away. Thanks for the report Looking forward to your next post(s)
