Slower ramp up after installing new pump

Thanks for your reply - it's a Quickmill Alexia I got about 15 years ago, no other parts replaced and no settings changed, at least not intentionally

Slower ramp up after installing new pump

Just taking a shot in case this rings a bell for someone. Before I replaced the pump the machine was taking a long time for the pump to start up at all - it was quiet for 10 - 15 seconds or more - and then it would run. So I replaced the pump. The

For first try of Nordic roast coffee, Wendelboe worth it over Sey

I don't know if it's officially a Nordic Roast but I think that style was of interest to the person who runs / roasts Mountain Air Roasting I've had and enjoyed it but I haven't had Sey or Wendelboe so I can't compare. I think there's been some discussion of MA here if you want to check it out

4-5 month old beans for espresso - underrated?

One thing I learned from this site that wasn't common knowledge when they were doing the testing and figuring it out, is that you can store your beans in the freezer and they'll keep much better. I'm not careful and don't have an especially good freezer but months old coffee still makes good espress...

Grinding Sound from 14 Year Old Quickmill Vetrano

It doesn't "sound like" it to me but have you checked for rattling or sympathetic vibration? I was getting a high pitched whining sound that turned out to be the drip tray - when I make it more snug (or put my hand on it) the sound stops. I wondering if a loose screw or piece of thin metal

Recommendations for dark roast to replace my beloved Scarlet City Warp Drive

I don't drink a lot of dark roast but for something rich tasting without as much "punch" as and more sweetness than, Italian coffee (I use Massimo for my wife's coffee) I like the Klatch espresso blends. I'm thinking of their WBC and current Brazilian (Geisha Juice?) espresso, but they have others t...

Blue Bottle Hayes Valley Espresso roasting site problems

I don't know anything about coffee roasting but there was a radio story (This American Life) about a beloved hot dog manufacturer that moved to a new factory. They built the new facility with the intention of producing an identical product but, of course wanted to make as nice a new facility as they...

Quickmill Alexia - pump stuck?

Hello Madhu, I'm no expert and hopefully an expert will reply but it took a very long time for my new pump to draw water - I think I had this with the previous enew pump as well. I hooked it up and turned it on for as long as I dared (30 seconds), tried over and over, tried
