Plastic Particles in Bottled Water

I've been distilling my own water with a PureWater Mini Classic CT. Then I have a 6 gallon glass dispenser that I keep completely distilled to drink from/use in various appliances. Then a few 1 gallon glass jugs that I fill from the bigger one and remineralize with Third Wave Water

The Meticulous Home Espresso Machine (Kickstarter)

Wish I could say more, but I'm under an NDA. Also in full disclosure I'm an investor in the company and as such I cannot participate in any more discussions regarding Meticulous on HB

The Meticulous Home Espresso Machine (Kickstarter)

I had about 10 days of hands on time with the machine not that long ago and the onboard controls were not functional yet except for purging iirc. Used laptop/tablet for everything and I never encountered any bugs like Lance did. Personally, I'm quite optimistic that it'll be pretty solid by the time...

The Meticulous Home Espresso Machine (Kickstarter)

Doesn't need a gooseneck (or even a kettle), you can pour in room temp water from a glass. Steaming unit, who knows, Nanofoamer Pro just launched for a whole lot less. I'd prefer steam though, but no reason that should be that expensive. They have said $1500 is retail. With S+H and a nanofoamer prob...

The Meticulous Home Espresso Machine (Kickstarter)

My understanding if you push the start button above the group it will just default to whatever preset you last picked. So it really can be an incredibly simple ui/ux if you want it to be. Simpler than Decent. Not as tactile as a lever, but 1 button operation. Also I'm not sure I agree with this as a

The Meticulous Home Espresso Machine (Kickstarter)

Except it's cheaper than the majority of traditional pump and lever machines (precisely because it doesn't have a pump or a boiler). The presets make it basically as simple to use as any machine really. Want it to act like a e61, pick that preset. Cremina, pick that one. Spring lever...you get the i...

The Meticulous Home Espresso Machine (Kickstarter)

I've seen him discuss this on Discord, he's not involved at all anymore for better or worse. Sounds like a series of unfortunate events and a whole lot of Covid drama, but that it's actually going to come out just very late. I think the Meticulous is much further along in development, wouldn't be su...

What current practice/espresso gear will we look back on very differently in 20 years?

How about a baby step, I'd hope the majority of coffee roasted in the world will no longer be indistinguishable from charcoal

Experience with Weber Unibasket

Yeah, you're exactly right I view it as lab equipment. Nothing wrong with that. I say I haven't done extensive testing because I haven't done back to back shots with this and a VST. So just going based on how I remembered the same coffee tasting the day before it didn't seem that different (both sho...

Experience with Weber Unibasket

Haven't given mine a thorough workout yet, because I have a Londinium and it doesn't work well with the standard portafilter. Used it a bit with a spouted PF I have while I wait for a new one to come in the mail. Haven't noticed any huge differences vs my VST's taste wise but will be experimenting m...
