La Pavoni Europiccola - low shot volume
I don't think you can get 44 ml of good espresso with a Pavoni lever unless you make 2 pulls. A regular single shot is considered to be 30 ml and I think you can't get much more than that in a Pavoni with a single pull. Most of the times (depending on coffee, grind, pre infusion) you'll get less

The idea of changing one variable at a time
GVDub I meant to reach 1.5 (or 2) oz with 14 gr in 30 seconds varying only grind. When people said "change one variable at a time" I understood (may be wrongly?) they mean changing several variables (albeit not at the same time) until you get a final result that pleases you. For example, grind finer...

The idea of changing one variable at a time
Well, it appears to me it's just the opposite. The "change one variable at a time" advice for a neophyte will probably lead to a dead end. Much simpler to part from a fixed weight (say 14 gr of beans) and try to reach the 1.5 or 2 oz goal by just varying grind. And when you have more experience

Here are my thoughts. 1-The crema in your video looks pretty good 2-I get more crema in my other machine (a semi automatic la Pavoni) than in my lever 3-Blends with robusta produce the most crema but taste poore...

Low water volume per pull in La Pavoni Europiccola?
You'll never get decent results using preground with an Europiccola. This machine demands freshly roasted coffee and a good grinder. Without that you're wasting your time and drinking bad coffee no matter what technique you use

Low water volume per pull in La Pavoni Europiccola?
To obtain more water volume per pull you must either grind coarser, use less coffee or make a longer pre-infusion. Anyway I think you'll never obtain 1.5 oz (almost 45 ml !) per pull (with the correct method) that's too much for a shot

Grinder for a La Pavoni (limited budget)
If you go for a hand grinder make sure it will grind for espresso. Not all hand grinders do!
