My favorite roasters so far
Updating from my original post: Temple Coffee is my go to and most ordered from Roaster: -Dharma Blend is great in a moka pot -and all of their single origins have been excellent in a Chemex pour over. Intelligentsia Roasters I also REALLY like: -Black Cat Analog in moka pot -and most Single origins...

After 2 years I climb out of the pourover rabbit hole!
My Lido 2 is an older one. So mileage may vary--- I think it was one of the last ones before they changed the burrs. But having said that the Lido 2 setting is anywhere from 9-10 notches for my Chemex pour over single cup. (23 grams coffee and 330 grams water) For whatever reason I

After 2 years I climb out of the pourover rabbit hole!
Whew! It took two years down the rabbit hole of pour over! But i finally have my act together (to my taste anyway) After trying most types of pour over devices (wave, hario, melitta and bee house) I finally took a stab at Chemex and finally found my pour over home! I LOVE the taste of

Finally tasting the difference between a Kalita vs Hario
So far I haven't dived into brew timing. Trying to eyeball that. That is next on my list of variables to add and conquer. I figured it would be best to really understand what each variable does to taste so that tweaking becomes easier

Finally tasting the difference between a Kalita vs Hario
I use the same coffee to water ratio for both: 340 g water and 20.5 g of coffee (although I tweak the coffee a bit depending on the bean). for the Kalita I grind at roughly 10-11 from my zero on a lido 3 and for the V60 I grind at roughly 6 or 7. With slight

Finally tasting the difference between a Kalita vs Hario
So a year in and my pour over 'technique" is better and fairly consistent as is my grind due to the Lido 2! So now I can say that I do taste a difference in the Kalita Wave and the Hario V60. I like them both and I haven't found the V60 to be as high maintenance as

LIDO 3 Reassembly Problem
I have been having a little of the same thing with the Lido 3. Got a Lido 2 earlier this Fall on some great HB recommendations. Loved it so much I decided to buy a Lido 3 for office and travel. Noticed instantly it just felt tighter and more restricted than the Lido 2. Not as

Made my first order of coffee from Gracenote Coffee in Massachusetts last week ( {link} ) There was an odd mixup in the shipping end of things and I asked for the order to be cancelled. Patrick, the owner, not only graciously honored my request to cancel and refund the order he also went ahead and s...

LIDO grinder - How often to clean?
I recently upgraded to a Lido 2 grinder after great advice on this thread: "My next coffee toy?" Was SO happy with the grinder I got a Lido 3 for my office! Love both and am still tweaking grind settings for my test but the improvement in the cup is NOTICEABLE. I brush the bottom
