Other Hobbies (passions, obsessions?)

I used to sail, mostly small one-design (Turnabouts/N-10s, I've heard these are only in New England, also 420s and someday I'd like to get a Laser, but I'm too small), in local regattas. I also used to be into skateboarding (very badly), and model rocketry, and skiing. I'd really love to get into ph...

Rocky grind setting #10 not selectable?

Ditto. When I got my Rocky, I noticed the gap and out of curiosity I took it apart. There seems to be 1.5 or 2 notches in the collar in the gap on 10, offsetting the rest by a tiny amount, but once I got used to it I didnt even notice the offset anymore

Compak K-10 grinder, availability, opinions?

I'm not sure how the size of the chute on the K 10 and other conical grinders compare to the one on the Rocky, but I've found that the steam wand cleaning brush that WLL has is the perfect fit. Once all the beans are ground, I brush the chute with this brush, pulse the motor, sweep again, and

Compak K-10 grinder, availability, opinions?

Sorry if this question has already been asked, but I didn't see it on the previous pages of this thread: Has anyone been quoted a price for the K10 in the US and willing to share that quote?

Newbie got a Gaggia Classic, frustrated with steam wand

On my Espresso, I've steamed a 20oz pitcher to the point where it was overflowing without the light going on. I purge as soon as I flip the switch, until it starts sputtering, get the milk and pitcher out of the fridge and pour the milk, run back to the machine, and purge for 5-10 sec. close the

The Best Shot You've Ever Had

I had just woken from an afternoon nap and decided I'd get my caffeine fix before heading off to work for the evening. I fired up the machine and decided to try the new "Northern Style" blend I'd picked up the day before, which was roasted the day before that. I just left the grinder where it had
