Elektra A3: Excess steam pressure then release
Hi. I have an Elektra A3 that recently is is rising up to excessive pressure and than is released. It makes a very loud sound of steam releasing and is scaring the fire out of my wife. At first, it was infrequent, but now has gotten to the point that she has requested that I turn off

Wrong filter - risk in using non-carbon replacement filter?
Hi. I just spent way too much time relocating my Elektra A3 to the other side of the kitchen to free up space for the lady of the house. I had ordered a replacement 10 carbon water filter and water softener a month ago from Chris Coffee. All excited to get her (Elektra) up and running again

LaPavoni won't heat....
Lent out my LaPavoni Professional. Got it back clean, but now it won't heat. Initially, upon return, it would over-pressurize to 1.5 - 2.0 bars. Now it won't heat at all. Power switch illuminated but nothing else. 1) Any ideas what the cause of this is? 2) More importantly, how do I fix? Thanks

Draining an HX boiler for storage and shipping
Hi. Due to an upcoming move, and the necessity to store my Elektra A3 for up to 5 months, can anyone give me specific instructions how to drain this puppy and prep it? It has been off for a little over a week. Any detailed instructions would be appreciated. Thank you. John

La Pavoni & TSA (airport security)
I flew down to Florida following Christmas for a week-long holiday. I queried this board about the Illy cans ("link"), and followed the advise of putting the coffee in zip-loc bags. I packed them with my checked luggage. I hand carried the La Pavoni in my Filson carry bag, with the handle sticking o...

Grouphead Clog on Elektra A3?
Chris Coffee tech support faxed a schematic of the group head. I checked where they recommended. Surprised to see the scaling on the top of the group head. The screw (and hole) was completely clogged. Works like a charm now. A little concerned about scaling since I have a softener and filter in this...

Are coffee cans allowed in airplane carry-on luggage?
I'm thinking of taking my lever with me on the airplane as carry-on luggage next week when going down to Florida. I will carry in my Filson bag. Since I don't have a portable grinder, I plan on bringing pre-ground illy coffee. I'm not overly concerned with the TSA in regards to the La Pavoni

Grouphead Clog on Elektra A3?
After many months of not cleaning my A3, I decided to take off the screen and soak it along with the heavy brass puck with holes in cleaner. Also performed some backflushing with detergent. Now, when I pull a shot, hardly any water comes out! Plenty of steam pressure, and plenty of hot water out of

Elektra A3 Wiring
Very timely topic. I plan on attaching my plug tonight. I had to install a new 20amp outlet, and also needed a small extension cord. I thought I found what I needed, but it turns out it was for 240v; master electrician here at work confirmed that the 240v would NOT work. Building the extension cord

Timer for 20 amp espresso machine (Elektra A3)?
The Elektra A3 arrived Tuesday (I asked the driver to load it in the Jeep). Great service, Chris Coffee! (they shipped it on Friday, and it arrived in two business days). Got help unloading from vehicle Weds. night, and spent the rest of the evening trying to figure out how to plumb the puppy in and...
