Ethiopia Wolichu Wachu - Sweet Spot

thought i would chime in with my profile of this bean, i'm getting great aromatics, lots of florals and a sweet apple acidity coming through from this batch. made me smile when i had my first cup of this batch! {image}

World coffee roasting championship *live ROR*

well, i can see one reason why having a roasting plan is not necessarily bad/redundant. it would show (to some extent) the roaster's knowledge of bean and machine, to get it to follow exactly his/her plan. otherwise who'd know if you're just cupping a lucky accident?

i would certainly agree with the Uraga, i got prominent juicy white peach notes from it. Also the florals are more upfront, bit like lilac/lavender to me. the Alemu is more subtle in its flavours, doesn't blast you in the face but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. in fact i do love it as a da...

GC7, i'll put in another vote for the Burman coffees i recommended. Having roasted them both, i'm enjoying them immensely. both spectacularly clean. green quality is immaculate and the flavours are right up there with some of the top ethiopian coffees i've had before. alemu bukato's coffee is partic...

i've gone through 3 sample roasts of each, sipping on the Guji right now. I'll have to agree on the Guji, very prominent florals in the finish, reminiscent of lilac/lavender. compared to the Alemu, i would say it has a richer body and more mellow but balanced acidity. Alemu's coffee is definitely mo...
