Feldgrind version 1.2 unboxing

Welcome to the family. {image} I've put a trace of Dow 111 lube on the O-rings that hold the cap and bottom catch cup in place. Leaves just enough friction for a perfect fit. A thing of functional beauty

K Grinder: a homemade 68mm - titan - conical grinder experiment

Fantastic! I love it. This is about as minimalist as it gets. Don't know if you saw "this" - it's what I've been using for pourovers at home since I built it about a year ago. No Titan burrs, but it performs nicely. I use the same 38mm conical set in "my other grinder" which I use exclusively for es...

ROK Coffee Grinder - Owner Impressions

Thanks deegee for taking the time to share your results. I wonder why there is such a difference in quality? Visually is there any noticeable difference between the burr sets (besides the threads)?

ROK Coffee Grinder - Owner Impressions

I received mine about a week ago. I think it's a solidly built product, especially for the price. I like the ergonomics quite a bit, except for the catch cup, which tends to make a mess when dosing into a portafilter. An angled spout would have helped with this problem. Others have mentioned the sta...

La San Marco SM 90 New Burrs Lock Up

The capacitor boosts starting torque for the motor. The combination of accelerating the rotor from standstill plus overcoming the initial force of crushing beans requires some extra oomph. Luckily, it's a pretty standard part, and if you're electrically inclined, should not be difficult to replace y...

Nice tamper for my Pre-Millenium Europiccola

+1 for Alex's tampers! I bought one about two years ago for my EP and have been using it daily since. Stainless base would have been nice, but aluminum is totally fine, especially for the price

A hand-ground project

For one, brass is much easier to machine. It also has better mechanical properties for load bearing. Plus the color contrast looks neat I think Thanks. I only get to work on stuff like this when I'm visiting my parents in the US, otherwise I might have considered it at least!

A hand-ground project

Thanks! Most of the machining work was done on a lathe with a maximum radial runout measured at .004", so that along with my rudimentary machining skills pretty much set the boundary as far as tolerances go. Occasionally I can feel just the slightest rub at espresso grind, but visually I can't detec...
