What coffees suits moka pots best?
My induction cooktop does not like missing a pot on top. It would beep and display an error code. The glass plate is not hot, so the lifting can be simulated by turning the cooktop on and off briefly. At the 300W setting, it cycles on/off naturally anyway. I get a very slow trickle coming out

What coffees suits moka pots best?
I took my moka pot and a portable induction cooktop on an essentially business trip to Vegas. Tried out Lavazza Crema E Gusto and Oro pre-ground coffees. Followed James Hoffman's recipe; hot water fill, aeropresso filter on top, low wattage once flow starts, and cold quench upon sputtering. Both "be...

What coffees suits moka pots best?
Thank you for the detailed responses. In my limited experience, moka pot coffee seems to be more bitter and less fruit when compared with using the same beans on my La Pavoni. I follow approx the same routine, including starting with hot water. The only difference is using lower heat throughout to m...

Not sure how much that matters, if one's goal is to blunt the inrush of water. I use Aeropress filters which are much bigger than my basket,...

Puck screen thickness
I use Aeropress filters, which are 64mm. They come n packets of 350. Because I have a 51mm basket, this trick may not work with your 58mm basket. I "tamp" a stack of 4 or 5 filters into an empty basket. The paper curls up around the tamper base, and stays preformed afterwards

Better Grip on 1Zpresso Hand Grinder
I have a JE-Plus and have a similar problem holding on to the body. Gently moistening the left hand, especially the V between the thumb and forefinger helps. I have tried using a silicone rubber band and found it somewhat useful

1Zpresso J-Max review
How so? I just pull the plug on my blind shaker, give a little shake, and everything falls into the basket
