Am I insane to get a mavam single group for home?
From personal experience, I have yet to taste an espresso shot from a Mavam that wasn't either 1. extremely worried-over, or 2. nice-tasting. And that includes a shot dialed in by one of the pwners of the company. Buy a Decent, spend the rest of the money on an EK

Was guessing I got an underdeveloped batch (all common underdevelopment notes in a too-light Colombia) until I read the abo...

Adding flavours after roasting
I experimented with vaporizing different botanicals at a low temperature and vacuum-sealing the vapor in with green coffee. More permeable coffees took the flavor better. It was interesting adding tea and floral notes to coffees that wouldn't usually have them

I think this makes all the difference in planning a recipe around this style of roasting. In my experience a less-full drum batch is going to taste better, more-vibrant...

Rapid drop in flavour after opening - 49th Parallel
Might be the vacuum-sealing and nitro-flushing. We're seeing some of this with certain of our coffees

Geisha blowback
I'm going to step in here and democratically steer y'all away from that Guat, and towards the Panama Santa Teresa. Santa T was the first geisha I ever bought a few years back, and the response was overwhelming. First, and one of the true "geisha bomb" profiles I've ever had
