Upgrade from Behmor 1600

I was one of the first to buy the then new Behmor roaster in ~2007. A great package for roasting coffee. When Jake was announced around 2019, I planned to upgrade. Joe's illness and the pandemic put the skids on that. Two years ago I bought a used Hottop 2K+ and learned how to

Niche Zero broken switch and customer service

The small plastic bit that goes around part of the switch ball is broken. I don't think that can be fixed, unless Gorilla glue could lock it in securely

Niche Zero broken switch and customer service

Yesterday, after 3 years of use, my NZ fell over while I was moving it across the kitchen counter. My mistake, too early in the day... The on/off toggle switch was broken in the tip-over. Viewing of a quick YouTube video and the PCB was out. Upon dissection of the switch, I found the problem. Irrepa...

Kaleido Sniper Coffee Roaster

100% agree. I might consider the Sniper down the road, but hope they properly link up with Artisan support and also make connection with the software less complicated

Hottop - can it be used indoors?

I picked up a used Hottop 2K+ in March to join two Behmor 1600/2000 machines. I now prefer the Hottop when roasting. BUT, it does not have a smoke supressing afterburner unit like the Behmor. Both produce smoke, but the Behmor handles it better. My roasting system is having the roasters at the edge ...

Time to Upgrade Roaster?

For larger batch sizes, reasonable cost, durability, good customer service, and the ability to make great coffee, the Behmor is your ticket right now. Reasonable as in $500. I've been a fanboy since 2007, but recently added a Hottop 2K+ for better control over the roasts with Artisan software monito...

My 10th year old Behmor wants to retire. What's next?

Installing upgrade parts on the Behmor is NOT hard, but you might need patience and an uncluttered bench or tabletop to keep track of the fasteners. As stated here, instructions are readily available at behmor.com, and others here and on the Facebook Behmor page are more than willing to help. I've r...
