Looking for a nice single boiler espresso machine
I'm still researching this and thinking about going with a Rocket Appartamento. I've always liked Rocket. I know that it lacks a PID and it uses a vibratory pump rather than rotary. It has only the steamer gauge and no brew gauge. How important are these features to pulling a good shot? Wish I could...

Big Blooms
So can someone explain exactly what causes these big blooms on some coffee beans when doing pour over? I have seen this quite a few times but I would say that it's still somewhat of a rarity. I always assumed that it meant the coffee was super fresh, however, I've brewed many times with very fresh c...

Blueberry (or any berry) bomb coffee recommendations?
I had a naturally processed African bean from Counter Culture a while back that smelt just like blueberry. I mean it was amazing. I wish I could remember the exact varietal. I believe it was called Jabanto They had it for a while and IIRC its in regular rotation over at CC

Looking for a nice single boiler espresso machine
I see what you guys mean about the Rocky. I own one now because I got a good deal on it. It seems more like something made for grinding drip coffeee and that's exactly what I will be using it for. I'm sure once I actually get an espresso machine I will opt for some thing better. When I got

Rancilio Silvia PID -> Silvia Pro X / ECM Synchronika / La Marzocco Linea Micra
I agree with you about the looks. This has never been more apparent than the Rocket Appartamento. It's a nice little machine that I would love to have but they focused WAY too much on aesthetics and the price point suffers a but. I would much rather have a PID than all the fancy side panels and colo...

Looking for a nice single boiler espresso machine
The Ceados are definitely a nice grinder. What's so bad about the Rocky. I can only assume it's the adjustments.... no stepless?

Where to get cheap coffee beans to season burrs?
Never heard of this. What's happening when you "season" burrs? I can only imagine sharp new burrs getting more and more dull over time but not sure why the would need to season them
