Replace or silence Sirai pressurestat

That's exactly what I'm after. In-fact it was one of your other posts that gave me the idea to use a Ma-Ter

Replace or silence Sirai pressurestat

That's good to note. I also had a Sirai fail in the closed position; the original 20A model. Fortunately, I heard the OPV valve whistling. I've read that when some people install their PID, they keep the original pressure stat wired in-line as a back up

Replace or silence Sirai pressurestat

I have a L1 (2014) 220v, which has a 30A Sirai pressurestat. The Sirai is of-course quite robust, but I would like to silence the clicking sounds. I'm looking for means to regulate the boiler pressure silently, set it and forget it. I'd also prefer to avoid an electronic project-box on my kitchen co...

HG1 burr alignment... from the source themselves

Thanks for sharing this. Although, I was hoping for some secret trick, unfortunately, the technique is similar to what many HG-1 customers have discovered on their own. I apologise in advance for sullying your helpful post, with my bad experience, but I feel that it is important to share it. I've ha...

Eureka Mignon Silenzio/Perfetto/Specialita' (2018)

I picked up a Specialita yesterday. Here is my initial assessment, no break-in, roughly 150 grams of coffee through the grinder. Taste Out of the box, particle size distribution is quite good. There are very few fines, and even less boulders. The extraction appeared good, but there was a noticeably ...

Requesting Mazzer Mini E w/ SSP User Experience

Thanks for that. Based on the above account, and others similar: it seems that although the Mini E can fit the SSP burrs, the motor Does not have enough torque for them. My decision is to avoid the MineE/SSP combo

How can I tell when coffee beans are stale?

Use good quality mason jars, and fill as much as you can, so that there is less air space. You can spray with a wine preserver (which I think is nitrogen) to remove more oxygen and moisture, but it's not required. I prefer to use smaller jars, so that I can thaw smaller quantities at one time

Nipple/bubble extractions non stop

I have extractions like this at times with my LI. I believe it's a function of distribution, and head space. The LWW blind shaker has helped immensely with distribution

First high end espresso machine. Any advice?

Agreed. When I was starting out, an SBDU (Gaggia Classic, or Rancilio Silvia) was considered good for beginners. The next step up, a heat exchanger (likely with an e-61 or similar group head). Dual boilers were the holy grail, and PIDs were an aftermarket upgrade. Times have changed. In current time...
