The most repairable DB or HX espresso machine out there?

I was chuckling when reading this and picked the same two machines that baraistaboy mentions before going to the linked thread. My 4th machine was one of the first duettos. I have upgraded it many times following the path of the newer duettos. Standard parts, and great coaching from chriscoffee....t...

Izzo Duetto IV replacing heating element gaskets

Was talking to Chris Coffee service (US distributor) and they confirmed the supports on the boiler bottom are really for shipping. Secondly, they use impact tools for the elements and the teflon washers. Their (battery) impact is up over 400 ftlb (max setting)...I was pretty amazed by that comment. ...

Izzo Duetto IV replacing heating element gaskets

As said earlier, it would be imprudent to do this without a impact tool....you will be asking for issues. Earlier versions of the Duetto did not have a boiler support at the bottom if I correctly understand your description. One result is the from early on is the boilers can sag and the element cont...

First espresso machine and grinder with max budget $5000

My Duetto just had its 15th birthday. Been around and owned a number of other machines, and I have to agree on the Duetto for its pour quality, ease of repair, and quality of parts. Yes various relays (started with mechanical relays), vacuum breakers and other bits have been replaced but with some s...

So I guess my Sette 270W has finally bit the dust

[quote="cmin" It's amazing the taste difference, Sette always seemed flat and muted, same beans I was pulling from Slate are so much better on Vario than Sette. Can't believe I put up with the Sette, should say Sette(s) lol, all these years. Kept missing Monolith orders. Sette needs a complete revam...

Who wants to Bianca-fy their E61 grouphead? - Interest Survey

I would be interested for a Duetto. Recognizing there haven't been any posts in a month, given comment the valve maker is busy, thought I would at least throw my hat in the ring. It looks like a fascinating project! Wonder if any (valve ) movement. Thanks for the ideas and effort!
