Ascaso i-Mini & Ascaso i2
Ah, no. . . {link} Category: SSP (Kimber, Colt 1911 pattern; HK USP C; all in .45acp (handloads) Power level (chronographed M/v X bullet weight): 249,550 {link} Nothing like going to the range on an empty stomach and 2 double cappas to make it a little more realistic (simulating adrenaline & stress)...

Ascaso i-Mini & Ascaso i2
I think it is the i-mini in general. I favor the sturdy construction and the burr set of the I1; but then I'll never end up having multiple espresso machines or various grinders "just because" (I have something of an addiction to IDPA that claims much of my discretionary funds, you see. . .) one bec...

Stalling a Vibe Pump?
Wouldn't that depend on the machine itself? Is there a regulator to begin with - or does one just stall out the vibe (and risk damage)? Is the pump thermally limited, or current regulated? What is the pump's rating (OEM specs)? I have an Ascaso Arc that I bring to the occasional wood splitting/firew...

Ascaso i-Mini & Ascaso i2
The Ascaso I1 has been completely reliable and consistent for me through some two years of daily home use. Yes, it's stepless. Yes, it clumps with oily roasts - just WDT the portafilter if your shots aren't good and the issue disappears. Brush out the chute every morning, and run GRINDZ through once...

My new Gaggia Achille
That is the joy of using a lever to introduce folks to great espresso! When I take the Elektra down to the ambulance station, each time a few more in emergency services seem to "just happen by" to try a cup. Everybody knows the Ascaso Arc makes something far more enjoyable than the chain, but the le...

New Elektra Microcasa A Leva - Bitter Coffee
What's your espresso grinder, Heidi? Congratulations on your new Elektra MCaL, too! Mine is 16 years old, and in the family for over a year of nearly daily use. What tamper did you choose? I've often wondered what the espresso would be like, closer to sea level (a little jealous). When you get fresh...

Oh no! For the damned aluminum Gaggia Achille's dispersion block
For absolute control of the espresso that ends up in the cup, I would recommend the 16-cup LaPavoni and stop fussing. "Absolute" temp control in a lever machine seems to me to be a bit unrealistic when the art of a superb shot of espresso requires freshly roasted quality whole beans, a very consiste...

Hand (grinder) Jive - a photo essay
oofnik; One is perfect for a fine drip grind (up here, drip pots brew a delicious cup if the grind is about half again as fine as commercial drip), and the other makes a perfect grind for the MCaL, and with a firmer tamp, a very acceptable shot from the Arc! With a bit of cleaning, checking alignment

Do I REALLY need a $1200 espresso machine? Be honest ....
{{{shudder. . .}}} Boys really know how to make the girls cringe. . . enough with the skidmarks! Men with acute monkey-butt is a bit much. OP - I'd have to proffer either a PV Lusso (mechanically simple, enough steam to tackle half a gallon of half & half (likely, if not absolutely accurate), easily...
