Odyssey Espresso (Argos Lever prototype)

Is it just me, or is there some similar design language going on here... {image} No beef though, obviously with the addition of a boiler and a spring it works quite differently Always good to see new machines come along trying different architectures and layouts too. Good luck to the team and

Another homemade open boiler lever

Hi there, Nice job! Cool to see some more open boiler designs. I've got some more ideas rattling around my head for another design which i've just started modelling. I've moved to europe since I made my last machine and changed jobs. Suffice to say I now don't have the extensive machining resource I...

Custom Designed and Machined Lever Machine

They are teflon piston guides. I only had a very small teflon piece, and it's expensive, so I cut it in strips, bolted them to the side of the piston, and then machined them round on the lathe to be a nice sliding fit for the bore. If/when they wear, a small piece of shim can be added, and

Here's some CAD shots of the design. {link} I made some more subtle mod's a few days ago and have improved the water flow out of the screen. There's way less channeling now and far more consistent shots. Before, there was a tendency for water to rush out near the middle of the screen

Custom Designed and Machined Lever Machine

I haven't seen this before, but it looks really cool. I'm not totally sure how it works though? It looks like it has a temperature controller in the block? How does refilling work? The design is really elegant & great though. SLCCoffeGuy: With regards to a servo to control pressure, that's

Cafethema restoration

Just found this thread -- really cool machine. I love the evolution of the project, and the different contexts the machine has been placed in. The trolley iteration was nice -- reminds me of a deconstructed kiwi sausage sizzle style fundraiser, but with a far superior product All the quirky details ...

Custom Designed and Machined Lever Machine

That was the general plan. I have more experience machining than programming phone applications though One approach i've been intending to do but the whole-life-getting-in-the-way is having one of those generic socket communication apps for smartphone. There's an app my roommate had which allowed yo...

Custom Designed and Machined Lever Machine

Oh, and thanks for the nice words everyone. A footnote to the video: At the start i'm basically demonstrating my phone with the notification that the coffee machine is up to temp, and then i'm going to the computer which is logged into the coffee machine and displaying the output of the controller. ...
