Rocket Cellini Classic vs. Cellini Evoluzione?

I went with the Evo for the plumb in option but it's also my understanding the the rotary pump (vs the vibe pump in the Classic) is slightly quieter and I liked that aspect as well. I doubt very much that the insulation on the boiler will make a significant difference but does effect recovery every ...

What coffee contraption to go with for office?

Thanks so much for the suggestion guys. I am leaning towards the medium espro press since I can just bring it over to my desk and have hot coffee for the couple hours I need it for. I need to bring a thermometer in to the office and test the hot water spicket on the bunn machine we have in

What coffee contraption to go with for office?

Even though I make myself a macchiato every morning at home, I still need my coffee fix at work. My routine now is that I usually drink 1-2 cups of drip coffee between 10 and Noon from our standard-issue Bunn machine. The coffee is terrible though. Pre-ground, stale, yuckiness... you know what I am ...

Where to purchase Espro Press (8 oz) in NYC?

Wow! Great trip indeed. I just realized that I will be in Williamsburg this weekend to help a friend move into a new apartment. I'd be happy to run over to Toby's and grab an Espro for you and hand it off to your friend uptown if that makes it any easier. Not sure how long

Where to purchase Espro Press (8 oz) in NYC?

I just so happen to live off the 86th street stop (on the east side that is). It's a common practice to quote travel times from midtown, it wasn't my intention to assume where your sister was coming from. Also I was giving the time it would take to get there, not round trip. Even still, I doubt

Where to purchase Espro Press (8 oz) in NYC?

Even the farthest points of Brooklyn are not 2 hours from Manhattan. {link} This place is a 15-20 min subway ride from midtown Manhattan and is the closest you're going to be able to get out of the places listed

Suggestion for Beginner Barista Class

Thanks for recommendations everyone. It seems like Randy's suggestion makes the most sense for me since it's geared more toward the home user. Really glad to hear all the experiences of others as well. Thanks everyone!

Looking for "comfort food" espresso blend recommendations

I only have experience with Toscano out of the ones you mentioned but I have to recommend it highly because I find it to be fairly forgiving. Also, it's delicious!

Suggestion for Beginner Barista Class

Thanks for the tips Jim! While I think my grinding/dosing/tamping has "come a long way" in the last several weeks, I know it's still far from perfect. That said, even with mastery of grind and brew ratio I'd still like to get some hands-on instruction for milk steaming and some help to better descri...

Suggestion for Beginner Barista Class

As helpful as the HB community is and even with the massive amount of information available on the internet I still think I would greatly benefit from a hands-on class in the basics of barista technique. I'm interested in getting a decent amount of hands on time in espresso extraction, milk steaming...
