The Hudson Valley Collection (La Cosmo Hydraulic Espresso Machine)
The greatest coffee machine collector of all time put me on the track of that brand too. Unfortunately, La Cosmo did not leave much behind. Except very few machines and a short bio on Caffe Cagliari Collezionne that used to be online (I hope they will really come back in 2024 as they claim: Ryan, th...

Dating vintage espresso machines [ANCC, Serial]
OK, so 28 577 is some sort of Cimbali serial number (since 19-11-1958 is coherent with the 320 887 Milan ANCC number). If it's the number of machines produced by Cimbali up to 1958, it's quite a large number (right between Gaggia and Faema at the time, which both started later)

Help! What 1950s espresso machine is this?
I can't believe nobody post the reply to the question. Surely because the post is in the wrong category. I ended up myself here by accident and can tell that this machine is quite rare, it's from an Italian company called "American Espress" (from Milan). {image} There are some pictures of a survivor

1952 Gaggia Spagna Never Used
Your model can't be earlier than 1952, but rather a bit later. If there's no date stamped on the boiler, it means that it was certainly built in Barcelona by Gaggia EspaƱola (who had an agreement with Gaggia). They started production by the end of 1952 but I think these specific models were only pro...

Dating vintage espresso machines [ANCC, Serial]
Thanks for the update Ryan. That's a very interesting information: it confirms that numbers on manometers are really date (here written in the YYmm format), and also the special numbering for exported models (they have no ANCC number, but the date on the manometer)

Dating vintage espresso machines [ANCC, Serial]
Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing your last findings. I am a bit skeptical about the Breca manometer: it surely indicate December 1953 but, first, FAEMA was using their own manometers (or, at least, exhibiting the FAEMA logo and sometimes a handwritten date) and, more importantly, Lambro models were only ...

Thanks @condino, the San Marco numbering is still nebulous to me... but it may lead to something at some point. This week I found an interesting piece of document related to the A.N.C.C. that I wanted to share: {image} It's an official 1947 decree from the National Association for the Combustion Con...
