Rubber smell after replacing gaskets on Elektra Microcasa a Leva
Just to update the thread for future readers, I did get the silicone lubricant mentioned above, and that did it. No smell. I gave it a good couple of months to make sure. All is still well. Thanks

Rubber smell after replacing gaskets on Elektra Microcasa a Leva
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll order the silicone lubricant and reorder the gaskets, along with a thorough cleaning of the machine. Hopefully that'll do it. Will report back

Rubber smell after replacing gaskets on Elektra Microcasa a Leva
Hi, I fear I've ruined the perfect taste (for me) that I had dialed in for my MCAL. I changed the group gaskets but since then I'm getting a rubber smell and taste in my espresso. When running water from the group I can clearly smell the rubber. I've replaced the gaskets twice, adding more grease th...

Oh didn't notice it was written by you. Yes, that's the article that finally decided it for me to move from pavoni to elektra. I think we should have video threads for each machine on this forum. I'll open a thread

Add spring to new Elektra Microcasa a Leva or not?
Dr. Gary, how about a video of your technique? It seems we have assembled a small group of students here - me included - who might benefit from it. I know I've improved my shots considerably based on your advice both on the mcal and my old pavoni, so a video would be quite invaluable. And maybe we
