User experience with Timemore Sculptor Grinders 078 078s
I got my white Sculpture 078 yesterday. I ran about 20 grams of coffee through it before making coffee with my Hario Switch this morning. Very quiet compared to my 17 year old Macap M4 grinder. I made 3 cups of coffee grind settings between 6-8. I tried Motor speeds between 1075 - 1125 rpm (more or ...

Clever Dripper vs. Hario Switch
I started doing pour over with a Clever Dripper (and also had a French Press) and 1 1/2 years ago bought a Hario Switch. (02 size) I prefer the Switch - I use it as both a percolation and immersion for each brew- 1/2 time percolation 1/2 of the brew time in immersion. I rinse it with water after

Home roasting, why?
I have a tight budget - and like fresh coffee. Green beans have gone up in price - the least expensive I buy come from Happy Mug - ( sometimes I buy from Sweet Maria's) shipped they average perhaps $6.50 a pound. Good 'local' beans, thinking of Verve, that include a roast date, have also gone up in ...

1985 Olympia Cremina Price?
I bought a new in Cremina in 1987 (ordered from Zabars, while I was living in Chicago) along with a terrible cheap burr grinder - I sold the Cremina in 2005 or 2006 for about $450. At that point I still did not have a good grinder - and was not on line much - did not know it was

2023 Fall Chicago HB Get Together -- Now the John Weiss Edition
Ah Shucks, I'd have been 'a regular' for sure, if I still lived in Rogers Park, such an easy location to reach. So much I could have learned. (I live 2000 miles west of Chicago)

ECM Puristika owner experience
Good questions. I had a Flair 58 for about a week, bought due to all the positive reports about it- but found it quite difficult to use - and to coordinate pressure on it's gauge - and pressing down on that lever hurt my (Injured) shoulder. Now - I'm awaiting a Puristika - with the optional flow con...

I'll try both your methods - as well as other experiments - such as making Rvalis water (potassium bicarbonate added to RO water to use in that external water tank) . Thanks for the info

Yes. I was quoting that. However, can you describe the particulars of your current method blooming + decline? I am waiting for a Puristika I ordered last week - and they are installing a flow control on it (when they get the parts - It will be a Lucca flow control, not the ECM)

Do you mean this? You wrote on Oct 15 - Try my favorite profile (which is a combination of the "blooming" profile and "sweet bump" profiles): Fully open the faucet and start brewing. When 5 seconds are on the timer, completely shut off the flow.
