[SOLD] Baratza Vario
Hi All! I have decided to sell my Vario; I had wanted to keep separate grinders for both brew and espresso, but I simply don't have the space to accommodate two grinders and an espresso machine. While I prefer the Vario for drip, the Niche is good enough and I like the workflow with it a little more

Is the Ultra Grinder a Monolith copy?
I've seen some people online with them, had assumed that they were already shipping, so point taken. But I disagree with the monolith thread as proof a bunch of people already got them. If something sells out in 30 seconds, a lot of people miss out and then have to wait 6 months for the next opportu...

Is the Ultra Grinder a Monolith copy?
"Kafatek Pre-Orders for July 11" Many people reported the remaining production for all of 2020 sold out in a couple of minutes. So anyone who missed out, or didn't complete their purchase in time has a six month wait or longer

Is the Ultra Grinder a Monolith copy?
IMO, discussion of what was copied or influenced between one or the other is a moot point. Even if they were identical in every way, the fact you can actually BUY an Ultra grinder would be the key difference, even key innovation if you prefer. If a business owner insists on doing things in a way tha...

Are the lines inside the Decent Basket significant for ground height?
I don't think it has anything to do with indicating volume of coffee. I think it's just inverse of the ridge on the outer basket for the retaining spring to hold the basket in place

New Fellow Ode 64mm flat brew grinder (Kickstarter)
Likely has more to do with motor specs & longevity. Likely not enough torque for the motor to grind for espresso

Niche Zero grinder
could be the NFC disk? oily beans might stick to it sometimes, and end up feeding through inconsistently

Boring coffee
Your dose is way too small for a V 60-02. I get your reasoning for using a small amount of coffee, but it's harder to brew V60's with smaller doses. I used to dose ~22g and moving up to 30g made working on pouring and consistency much easier. Whether or not you want to use Hoffman's V60

Decent Espresso DE1 or Londinium LR24
I don't think you need to worry about the incremental improvements. John articulated the minor differences between the next couple of versions; 1.4 is the power supply which you would only notice if you are plumbed in, and 1.5's change from some brass parts in the group head will be backward compati...

Vario Grind Consistency or How I Learned to Stop Obsessing and Love the Coffee
I have been finding that if you are stirring the grounds to re-distribute, what you use and how you use it make a big difference with channeling. A single paper clip may hurt more than it helps (also depends on what diameter paper clip). If you fashion a home made tool, how far apart the paper clips...
