Comparison: Londinium R and Izzo Alex Duetto III
You don't need to flush the machine before each shot, you should do a small flush after a shot when you take the portafilter out. And you can take the portafilter out earlier by pulling the lever half way just above the spot where the water comes in and release the portafilter. Regarding the dose, I...

Yang Chia/Feima 600N
I have this one in black color from last September: {link} It looks like a Fuji Royal r220 clone with similar ghost burrs. It's quiet and grinds well especially in medium coarse settings. It produces nice cups, round flavors with good clarity. The price is about 1/3 of the Fuji Royal, build quality ...

Levers! Strega vs Pro 800 vs Achille
Reducing the boiler pressure to 1 bar will lower your extraction temperature and will have very slight impact on the steam pressure. Do you have the 2 hole steam tip? If not, get it. The holes are 1mm and the steam pressure with this tip is significantly lower. PersonallyI prefer the 4 holes tip (the

Eliminating spring noise on a commercial lever (Londinium R)
It's absolutely not related to the piston seals, it's only the spring itself causing the noise while being compressed. You need to try again, move it just a tiny bit and test. Try to apply some oil at the top where the spring makes contact with the upper part of the group (didn't work for me but it's

Eliminating spring noise on a commercial lever (Londinium R)
Hi everyone, Just wanted to share with you how I've managed to eliminate the spring noise ("groan") on my Londinium R. If you read the L-R thread you've probably seen a few posts about it, the spring in my machine made a tiny noise when I pulled the lever and apparently it's something that is relati...

Best Grinder under $1200 (2017)
I would put the Eureka Olympus 75e with the titanium burrs on the top of your list. It has relatively low retention, the adjustment mechanism is good and like the Ceado it's very easy to remove the upper burr carrier with 3 screws and without changing the grind settings. The Ceado comes close second...

18 g coffee and 60 g finished double shot
A good rule of the thumb is that the beverage weight should be twice the dose. So grind finer and aim for 35-40g in the range of 25-30 seconds. After you find your sweet spot then start to experiment with grinding even finer and do a 30g shot in a 30-35 seconds and see if you like

Rancilio Silvia Bottomless Portafilter
As far as I know "generic" E61 portafilters should fit but not all E61 are generic. You should look for a portafilter that has 6.2mm thick "ears". Those are common in Expobar, Quickmill, Rocket, Bezzera E61, Wega and others. So if you can't find info about the thickness of the portafilter "ears" you...

Super quiet grinder to pair with La Marzocco GS/3 AV?
Ceado E37S? Very quiet and fast, 83mm flat burrs, relatively small retention figures. I love it in white, don't know if this color is offered everywhere... Kfir
