Olympia Cremina Shot - Feedback needed
1. I always flush before placing portafilter to clean the screen and surrounding area (once, then run a pallo brush around the inside edges, then flush again and wipe dry). Also to lubricate piston before pulling first shot. Flushing consistently will still leave temperature predictable. IMO too muc...

Click on any one post heading and it is configured to take me to the post on the h-b site. Once there I use the forums/recent topics to scan and read all the posts that in...

Article on Orphan Espresso and the LIDO 2 grinder
Surprising and pleasing how well that article captured the facts and the feelings behind the OE venture. And so nice to see Barb stepping out from behind the camera. Now I know why the Lido 2 looked so familiar when I first unpacked it. I never thought to compare before but it has the same look and ...

LIDO 2 Owner Experience
I've had the Lido 2 (#45) for just over a week now so it's past time to share my meager experience. Being an espressoperson I don't get to use the Lido as much as the Pharos, but for the past week I've been pushing myself to brew more than usual. My current brewing method is using a small espro

Motorizing a Pharos Grinder
I use a medium size electric drill with Hank's modded part "Owner experience with Pharos manual coffee grinder by Orphan Espresso". I rest the drill against the side of my body, hold the grinder down with the other hand. I use it all the time, at least a half dozen times a day with no problems. Just...

Orphan Espresso's LIDO 2: Beta testing
Ah yes. Time and patience. A good way to solve (and avoid) many problems. Too bad they're in such short supply. PS. Don't antagonize the "cling-ons". PPS. Available as beta tester for comparisons with Lido 1 and Pharos on Olympia Cremina

Taste Comparisons for Espresso (Behmor - HotTop P?)
I have an original hot top upgraded to digital and then to p when it first came out. My typical roasts are routinely about 14 minutes for a half pound (227 g) to reach full city plus and up to 20 secs into 2nd crack. I run a 20 minute profile and counting down, add the beans at
