So, should I set it to 1 pound or 1/2 pound with my finger on the cool button? Haha, yeah my first 1 pound roast didn't hit 1C till 22 minutes. Baked

Getting to 1C with Behmor 1600 in a reasonable amount of time with 1 pound batches
I've been using a Behmor 1600 to roast coffee and I am loving the P3 "C" setting with 1/2 pound batches. It works excellently. However, I want to achieve the same results with full pound batches, but even on P1 I can't get 1C before 15 minutes. I'm looking to hit 1C between 10-12 minutes and finish ...

Using a Behmor 1600 for City/City+ Profiles
Thank you everyone for your help! It is much appreciated! I have roasted the Harrar on P1, P2, and P4 and will be cupping each today in order to determine which is best. I will probably throw a P3 in there just to be sure. I was worried last night when 1st crack didn't arrive on P4 till about 14:15

SCAA standards for cupping
So I just started roasting at home with a Behmor 1600 and am cupping the same coffee through the various profiles in order to identify the best one. I used SCAA standards for cupping (8.25g coffee per 150mL water) and it just didn't seem strong enough for me to taste very much. Should I increase my ...

Using a Behmor 1600 for City/City+ Profiles
I just got a Behmor 1600 to get my feet wet in roasting. I want to use it for City/City+ profiles but have a few questions. I've been roasting a Harrar at 1/2 pound sizes to explore the different profile settings on the device. I am wondering if the cooler profiles actually roast lighter since they ...

Coffee bean density in espresso
So I got some beans from Coava Coffee Roasters in Portland, OR. I'm not sure if it is the process (semi-wash) that they used to roast the beans or the beans themselves, but they are incredibly dense. For what would be 10 grams of beans for my other coffees, I get 17 grams of these. They are also inc...

Hario Skerton best setting for espresso
I am having a killer time trying to dial in my Skerton for espresso. Everything was going fine until I got some ultra fresh beans and now the setting that worked is giving me a fast and thick pour with crema that doesn't last. I tried tightening it up a bit and choked the puck. I am having a hard
