First roast. Very similar to BradM's roast. Targeting a ~10min roast so over shot a bit. Preheat was 230C. Coming form a HOTOP so a lot more variables to play with. {image}

Are you fully preheating the machine before starting your roast? I am surprised that any part of the machine could be cold enough to cause condensation

Costa Rican arrived yesterday so I will roast this weekend. Right now planning to do 450gm batches, drop-in around 220-230C with a target roast time of 10 min. ~90 sec development time. Any other starting or roast planning suggestions?

I like that Costa Rica, it looks promising. I have been roasting on the Hottop since it first came out so have burned a few beans. This will be a different animal though since there is more data and control - I never modified the HT for any data logging. I do have 20 lb of Liquid

Make sure you cell phone is nowhere near your roaster. Mine makes my Hottop temp erratic. I usually put it on airplane mode if I have it with me when I roast

Make sure your cell phone is no where near the unit. Mine was causing flucation in my Hottop K style
