Making Thick Lasting Cappuccino Foam With Oatmilk
Oatley has been my go-to for years. They have a high fat version that I find too thick on the palate. The regular fat version is our preference. The low fat version works too if you have the steam power to get it swirling quickly. But for taste the regular version has been the sweet spot in our worl...

Favorite nutty / med-dark espresso coffee?
I've come to the same place; I'd add that I taste a number of off flavors in many roasters offerings too. George Howell medium roast Montecarlos is amazing comparatively. My wife really likes the Montecarlos as a light roast. To each their own

Favorite nutty / med-dark espresso coffee?
George Howell used to have a coffee he called Tarrazu that was my favorite for years. I'd always go back to it like a homing pigeon. I'll have to try the El Indio and see if it brings back any memories. Oddly enough Beverly Ma is a short distance down the coast from me. A new roaster I

Favorite nutty / med-dark espresso coffee?
I found it to have a fairly wide sweet spot. Confusing at first because I couldn't decide which recipe tasted best! The 2 pound bag and good note taking eventually lead me to the flavors I liked the most. It's a bean I will go back to again. Best luck with it and let us know how it goes!

"Slow grinding" - Lance is back with another interesting hack
I've been slow feeding for years with a motorized HG1. The improvement in taste and consistency is well worth the extra time it takes to dribble the beans in. Since trying it the first time I never just dump the beans in. It's an easy experiment to try. Just know you will need to adjust finer, (quit...

Weber Workshops Key Mk. i Grinder - user experience
I'd grease it now with food grade silicone grease. I've had a motorized HG1 for 8 years. I grease it yearly with no problems

When to change the dose?
Hi Mookie, The short answer is no, it won't taste the same. Yes, you can change dose parameters and achieve the same measurable weight in the cup in the same given time but the taste will be different. Broadly speaking, grinding finer will elicit more sugars from the bean resulting in a sweeter tast...

Plastic Particles in Bottled Water
We are doing the same thing. No plastics in our water sources allowed. I use glass Corning brand scientific liter jars to store the re-mineralization components and combine those in glass jars too. It's hard to eliminate all plastic in the water paths and plastics in general from our food/water but ...

La Marzocco Linea Mini - Preinfusion from faking plumb-in
I can't confirm the machine stopping because of low water during a shot with pre-infusion and plumb in enabled while using the tank. I've never let the water get that low. It's gotten very low but not scraping the bottom of the tank low
