My Strega Died!
5+ year old Strega with zero preventative maintenance, finally rolled over on me. It tripped the GFIC couple of weeks ago, never a good sign. I kept a real close eye on it for the next few days after resetting the breaker and everything seemed fine, even though I still had a nagging doubt. So, I for...

Bezzera Strega: Group Drips While Warming Up
I've noticed recently, now that I'm not using a timer and I'm sitting around waiting for the machine to come up to temp, that the group on my Strega slowly drips an ounce or more before it finishes warming up. Is this normal? I dont remember it doing it when it was new. The machine is only a

Espresso Machine on Timer: Uh-oh, It's Getting Hot in Here!
I see the "600 watt" limit now! Only saw the 15 amps when purchasing the unit. I'll be more careful next time!

Espresso Machine on Timer: Uh-oh, It's Getting Hot in Here!
Just to be clear, this one is definitely going in the trash. Having said that, it was also one of, if not the most, expensive units I could find online. If you have any suggestions, recommendations, I'm all ears. Thanks

Espresso Machine on Timer: Uh-oh, It's Getting Hot in Here!
Yes, the pictures are of the one that failed. I replaced it with another lesser model from the same manufacturer. No smoke, the machine came up temperature no problem, the new timer seemed to be working properly. So, I guess it didnt throw a breaker, which means its not the socket or wiring? Engines...

Espresso Machine on Timer: Uh-oh, It's Getting Hot in Here!
Me too! I also thought 15 amps was more than sufficient, maybe not? Really like the timer and waking up to a warmed up machine, ready to go. However, I feel like I may have dodged a bullet this time. Thanks Dano

Espresso Machine on Timer: Uh-oh, It's Getting Hot in Here!
Came home this afternoon and my machine was still humming right along. Should have turned itself off at noon, I left around quarter till, after pulling a final shot of the morning. Screen was blank on the Timer, none of the functions worked. Obviously something "cooked off". Not good! {image} {image...

Bezzera Strega and a Little Double Dribble!
Obviously, the new "barbed" VRV must have still had a "valve" inside, I just thought they had completely done away with the "relief" pin. I was wrong! Actually I also purchased 2 spares when doing the mod
