Eric, I've owned both. The MC replaced a K30 I used for 5-6 years. The MC will add about a minute to your prep time. You lose about 5 g. of coffee a session with the K30. If you want to alternate coffees, the MC is superior. If you get a bag of coffee

FYI - I sold a 6 year old K30 Vario on eBay last week for $875. It was in great condition. I had it as low as $600 for a time on CG and got lots of "send me pics" and "if it's still there when I'm readies", but no "buyers"
