Olympia Cremina Lever Slot Repair Near Sacramento
I'm restoring another Cremina and discovered to my dismay that the lever slot is severely worn; see photo. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a shop in the greater Sacramento area that would be willing and able to repair this. Many thanks! {image}

Pre-mil La Pavoni Europiccola tripping GFCI
A couple weeks ago I diagnosed a shorted-out Cremina element. I knew about the Orphan Espresso video, but didn't think that technique would work. So I hit the element with a heat gun for 10 minutes. No luck. I finally put it in a 400 degree oven for several hours, as Doug and Barb recommend. Success!

Olympia Cremina SL Group Maintenance
1. In 98% of the rebuilds I've seen on this site involving spring levers, the springs are rusted. I know that lots and lots of springs are made using stainless steel. Does someone know why stainless springs aren't used on espresso machines? 2. Orphan Espresso made a simple tool for compressing seals...

Who can repair a super automatic Quick Mill in SF Bay Area?
The tech at Great Infusions is really good. It's in Santa Cruz, not far from the Bay Area, and you can go surfing after you drop off the machine. {link}

My new old La Pavoni Europiccola - restoration
Dow 111 is likely a better lubricant in this situation. Vaseline is certainly food-safe, though. Robert Chesebrough, who invented it, ate a spoonful every day and lived to be 96. To the OP: I really like the custom tools you built. Great work!

What kind of compressed air to use for cleaning grinder burrs
I've thought about air compressors too. They have their advantages if you do a lot of blowing (media blasting, for example), but they are indeed bulky, noisy, and not cheap. I only need this kind of air pressure a couple times a month, so the scuba tank works great. I already had a bunch of scuba ge...
