PID temperature setting for Gaggia Classic

Hi, I used a Gaggia Classic with an Auber PID for many years. It''s a good setup. 218-219F worked best for me. Your mileage may vary. Have fun!

Post a pic of your home espresso setup...

{image} There's a woman in my life now, and she's parking her Infuser next to my pre-millenium, Italian stick shift sports model. The small, brown cups in the picture were a gift from my daughter. They are from the set of the upcoming Scorcese/DeNiro film, "The Irishman." It is not yet known if they...

Baratza Sette 270 quality issues been resolved yet?

I have had four Settes pass through my kitchen. My upgrade path was from a Preciso. The first two Ws were very early production models. They produced excellent flavor, but neither lasted too long. The third W lasted longer, but it never produced the type of flavor I got in the first two. Eventually,...

Baratza Sette 270w - messy!

I've found the first few pounds through a Sette are more staticky (word?). The grinds settle down once the burrs are seasoned. (I've had 3 Settes). I've had no need for any grind distribution and virtually zero spillage

Is my Gaggia Classic the limiting factor?

Hi, I was a Gaggia Classic user for many, many years. Yes to the OPV adjustment (built a pressure gauged portafilter), Yes to PID temp control. I was making epressos with home roasted beans and using a Preciso grinder at the time. IMHO, there is a limit to how far it will take you. I upgraded 18 mon...

New Baratza Sette 270w Espresso Grind Settings

These grinders don't "learn." Baratza never released the app that would contain that feature. The offset setting is the number of grams prior to the programmed weight at which the grinder shuts off. At a factory offset of 1.1 grams - that means if your programmed weight is 15. grams, the grinder tur...

New Baratza Sette 270w Espresso Grind Settings

Although you haven't installed any shims, I think it's likely the grinder was shipped with one shim installed, and two more included. I'm guessing you have one installed already. And you have a millenium machine, I'm dosing on a pre-millenium. I'm working with 49mm baskets
