Less caffeinated brew for my Cafelat Robot espresso
Just to add a data point, I use my robot for decaf, 2+ times per day after I've hit my caffeine limit. I like Caffe Lusso's decaf and brew 20g-in shots. I'm guessing it would mix well to make a half-caf as well

98mm Grinder for Lever Machine
I've been thrilled to pair Lagom P100s with lever machines. The grind quality and workflow are great. I have one paired with a Robot and another with a Cremina (sometimes SL). I think lever machines can be more forgiving, especially direct/manual levers because you can adjust on the fly, but I don't...

Olympia Cremina SL - stronger spring
Would you mind sharing the specifications of the springs you ordered? I'd love to power-up my SL as I prefer the higher pressure shots I make in the manual group. Thanks - this is so great to see!

Olympia Cremina... with two interchangeable groups?
Fwiw, I have both and plan to keep them! I prefer the manual most of the time, but the spring is easier when I'm likely to be multitasking (I just wish I had a shot-stopper..). Right now I'm changing whenever service is needed on one. I tend to use caffe lasso beans, and I've been quite happy with

La Pavoni Europiccola 2021 - Bypassing the pressurestat
Fwiw, I added a "turbo" switch to a la pav I had. I don't recommend doing anything that makes you uncomfortable - 120v is dangerous!! I just traced the wire from the element to the pstat and forked it and forked the wire leading on, and put an appropriately rated switch. Unfortunately, I can't find ...

Olympia Cremina SL Group Maintenance
It does not compress it very much afaict and the clamp I'm using has rubberized holds on both side - so far so good! What I just noticed though was that I ordered a servicing kit for the Cremina but of course didn't receive enough gaskets because the the difference between the manual and SL groups :...

Cafelat Robot User Experience
Interesting! I would have expected the trapped air to act as an insulator from the metal piston. Have you noticed a temp drop with preheating as well? (Thermal mass wise it makes sense, but I couldn't decide if the mass difference compared to the piston's impact and never did the math!) I often do a...

Olympia Cremina SL Design Flaw?
My SL went on a runaway some time last year pushing toward 2 bar. What I did when I had a Bezzera Family with its ancient pstat was to pick up the corner of the machine and drop it - not much but just a little.. I did the same to the SL and then when it ran away again

Puck screens and Levers
Agreed! It's been nice to use one with my SL (and I wish I'd had one with my CT-1!) FWIW, usually leave it in the empty PF basket that is on the group, so it's pretty warm when I pull shots
