Help select new espresso machine! Budget $4500

Hi everyone, Sorry for the delays in replies. Life has been crazy for awhile now. Sold two houses at once, moved to temp house (i.e. Family's house) all while building a new house. Anyway, we have decided to delete the water source in the kitchen, and to get a Londinium R and move it into the

Help select new espresso machine! Budget $4500

Very familiar with levers, so I think the Londoninum would be fine in that regard, I think the concern there is space more than anything. While I have a lot of family here, realistically I think the most I would do is five back to back since not all of them are coffee drinkers. My initial

Help select new espresso machine! Budget $4500

I have a vintage cast iron Beatrice (similar to a Spong) which works amazingly well for espresso. I've used it for the past few years without issue, it's massive burrs work quick and produces a consistent grind. I also just bought a Sette 270 a couple of weeks ago, and am enjoying that as well

Help select new espresso machine! Budget $4500

Hi All, I am currently in the midst of having a new home built, and as a treat to myself I'm looking to get a higher end espresso machine. It took a lot of convincing the wife, but I somehow also got her to agree to it as well having the water source plumbed... Currently, I use

Baratza Sette - End User Reports

I just purchased a 270 (non w version), and can't wait to try it out. It will be my first electric grinder, thus far I've been grinding on a PeDe Box Grinder from the 1940 and an old cast iron wall mount grinder from the late 1800's. Can we say upgrade?! Anyway, looking forward to testing

Shot volume on vintage La Pavoni Europiccola (1973)

Hi All, I was wondering, what is the volume of your espresso shots with a vintage Europiccola? I am getting 1.45 - 1.5 oz pulls using a larger basket and ~14-15g of ground espresso. Is there a method I can use to get 2oz out of a pull? Or is is simply, that these machines only push

Adding Thermometry to a La Pavoni Europiccola

I just worked on adding this mod to my '78 Europiccola... I did a few things differently than others thus far, figured I would share them. The mod is not complete, as apparently the "high heat" velcro I bought wasn't so high heat. The velcro slid off when I was pulling my second shot. So I connected...
