ECM Technika Profi IV - 1st line back in stock

So, yours does drop to 0 when extraction is complete? Mine arrived 9/2012 set at 10ish, but after awhile I adjusted down to a hair above 9 bar which produces better results. I may adjust a bit lower to experiment. If yours is producing good results at a factory setting of 8, then I would leave it al...

ECM Technika Profi IV - 1st line back in stock

Not sure how I missed this post from late December since I have a Technika. Anyway, I am a little curious as to why the group pressure reading after the pour is shut down is still at 10bar compared to my Technika (tank only) which drops back down to 0bar upon shutdown. You can see this clearly at

ECM Technika Recommendations?

I'm going on almost a year with the Technika Prof IV pour-over w/rotary pump. I am quite happy with the performance/operation of the machine and a year later if I had to do it again I doubt I would choose differently. It produces consistent shots.... especially when paired with a good grinder and fr...

Working on lumpy uneven mazzer mini doserless grinder

Wow..... I just had to chime in. I am not doubting anything that anyone has said with regards to their problems with static, clumping etc., because I'm sure it's happening and it's quite annoying. Yet, I am puzzled because I also have a mini-E type A and have not experienced any of these problems to

ECM Technika IV drip

Just a note. I don't think this was mentioned, but I assume this is the "switchable or direct connect" machine, because my "tank" version purchased last Sept. has no expansion valve like the one shown. I believe the expansion valve just isn't necessary on the tank model due to it's specific plumbing...

ECM Germany?

The 1st-line site under the Technika switchable model / notes states: "There is no drainage capability, nor parts included for this, of the drip tray." Although the international websites show original versions of the ECM Technika profi, I would advise relying only on info from 1st-line, as that is ...

Again, I did not adjust the the brew pressure at the OPV, which you probably could do, but you would have to remove panels to do so. Playing with the pump pressure is purely experimental and can easily be changed back to original setting. As long as everything else (beans, grind, etc) is in order, t...

ECM Germany?

Spaz, I and probably hundreds of other HBers understand your dilemma... it's the decision process. I also looked at many of the other machines. I had considered dual boiler and PID, but decided I really didn't need two boilers and figured I wanted a more hands on approach to some of the temperature ...

ECM Germany?

I adjusted the brew pressure at the pump. The tank version has a hole on the bottom at the back of the machine where the rotary pump pressure adjustement screw can be accessed, although the screw and the hole may not line up too well. If it doesn't you will have to remove the side and back panels to...

ECM Germany?

I too am a little surprised with the lack of discussion on these machines. I really believe it takes awhile for new machines to catch on, especially one from a company with a similar name as the Italian maker of the aforementioned Rocket machines. It's like anything new or different, people sometime...
