Actually I have a Mini E Type B and still load and grind one dose at a time -- I measure and load my beans per shot and just have it set so that it grinds until empty. I do this because I switch between caf and decaf ever few hours. It's probably a waste of electronics

Their answer just doesn't make any sense to me. Burrs rubbing together can't be good, especially when there are so many other grinders out there with a lot of headroom for espresso. Strike while the iron is hot -- get a new grinder!!! And definitely try a longer flush
