Speed of turkish grinder mill

Coming in a little late on this, but, if anyone is still wondering... It's been a while since I've timed it, but I grind about 15 gr for turkish in 2 min plus in my Sozen, maybe a little less for espresso. (I get pretty good shots with that through the MyPressi when traveling. MUCH better than most

Can't purge air from Pavoni group anymore...

Thanks, Pat, you bring up some points I hadn't thought of. As it happens, my efforts to avoid overheating might be part of the problem, per your suggestion. I'll also pay attention to how things change with dosing---I am dosing pretty full these days. Thanks again

Can't purge air from Pavoni group anymore...

I've had Miss Pavoni (Millennium) pretty much dialed in now for a couple of years, but for some reason I can't seem to purge "false pressure" from the group anymore, resulting in a spongy pull that starts extraction sometimes 2/3 into the lever stroke. I thought I understood the physics of it, but I...

Mazzer Mini B "double dose" question

Thanks, guys... And Jeff, your description was just fine, I'll play around with it. Most of my shots (on the Pavoni) are 14 grams, and so far the single tap has been reasonably consistent. That said, I'll agree that critical dosing by time can be iffy. I've always dosed by weight anyway, but for a m...

Mazzer Mini B "double dose" question

I'm a bit puzzled about the "push-the-button-twice" feature of the Mazzer Mini B to get a double dose. When you push the dosing button once, the grinder runs for a certain length of time, yielding a dose adjustable up to 14 grams (on mine). If I want a "double dose" up to about 19 grams, I'm told

Confusing extraction issues with Zoka Paladino

For me, it was Vivaci. I thought all you coffee drinkers were nuts I laughed at your Latte Lunacy... Standing in line for a little thimble-full of dreck? Ha! Then one day at work, I must have done something right, because I was presented with a Vivaci gift card... Long story short, I found

Confusing extraction issues with Zoka Paladino

You're right about that... And, yup, did all that a while back. But, now that I've finally had a decent cup, and calmed down, I imagine I just need to do it again. I think I didn't take it far enough last time

Confusing extraction issues with Zoka Paladino

Well THAT'S more like it! Forget the Preciso, I dug out my old Sozen Turkish Grinder, backed it off 1/4 turn and had one of those satisfying 25 second, "lean into it" Pavoni pulls with the Paladino. Chocolate and Black Cherry... Yum. (Yeah, Pffft... up dosing this morning was just another gusher, an...

Confusing extraction issues with Zoka Paladino

Thanks, Maxwell... Yes, I've gone back and forth between Paladino (and others) and Dolce several times. When the grinder was pretty new, I had enough adjustment available to tighten the grind up several clicks of the micro to accommodate. And you're right: Something's probably happened with my grind...

Confusing extraction issues with Zoka Paladino

...Which makes perfect sense. I cannot grind finer with the Preciso as it stands; and, I'm already dosing 15gr in the Pavoni basket, so maybe that puts this now in the Grinder Forum. But I still wonder if others have experienced the need for a *significantly* finer grind with Zoka Paladino than most...
