Cappuccino Foam Dissipates Quickly
No, it may be easy to combine the two because they both deal with milk and frothing. I compare that to coffee brewing and espresso brewing the same because they both deal with coffee beans and hot water. They no more belong together as a coffee machine would equal a espresso machine. To outline, 2 c...

Cappuccino Foam Dissipates Quickly
When I make foam for a Cappuccino, after a few minutes the foam disappears. To be clear, I am not making microfoam. Since this is for a Cap, I am making regular foam. It's quite frustrating because at the coffee shop the foam on a cap will last for as long as I drink the cap. But when I make

Ideal brew temperature management by HX espresso machine type
Great follow up, thanks! I have a question concerning the BZ07. I was studying the "Temperature measurement Bezzera BZ07 PID" thread and I was wondering... Would this still be considered a Dragon machine or a Mixer instead? The reason why I ask is because it seems the thermal design/properties of th...

Microfoam Consistency- Bottom portion lacking air
No, I am not speaking of Caps or dry foam. I am focusing on microfoam for lattes and keeping the milk consistent as far as the air induced. consistent as in the upper portion of the milk is as thick and fluffy as the bottom portion...rather than have just heated milk on the bottom portion. I can tell

Microfoam Consistency- Bottom portion lacking air
The 12 oz worked. I made perfect microfoam with 4 oz of milk. However, the bottom of it was not as induced with air equally as the top portion still. But not nearly as bad as before. When I was towards the end rolling the milk, I had the steam on full power and it seemed barely enough to keep

Steps to Load VST 7 Gram Basket Properly?
Sorry for the confusion, I have a reg metal 58mm tamper. It's the < 58mm tamper that I don't have. But the plastic one seems to pull it off well enough for the singles...so far. Update: I managed to pull a really good 1 oz 28 second single shot. I loaded the basket meticulously and carefully....almo...

Steps to Load VST 7 Gram Basket Properly?
I have been using the plastic small tamp that came with the Silvia and seems to do the job good enough for me(not really in the mood to spend more money atm...since I am ripping through coffee). Funny you said the single shots taste brighter and sweeter. I have pulled some single shots and they were...

Nominees for "Favorite Espresso Blends 2012" review
I second this....I would like to see this roaster as part of the competition. Why? Well, they are local for one thing....and so I am biased. Also, they are a fine roaster....they take pride in their coffee and it's a passion for them, they are a high tier roaster. I have only tried their main blend ...

Microfoam Consistency- Bottom portion lacking air
Using a Rattleware 20-Ounce Latte Art Milk Frothing Pitcher... I tried to do 4 oz of milk for microfoam, but when I start to roll the milk it heats up to quickly before enough rolling can be done. I can do 6 oz of milk for microfoam pretty good. However, I can roll for only about 4 seconds

Steps to Load VST 7 Gram Basket Properly?
I got in a 7 gram VST basket. I found numerous tutorials on how to load and tamp a double basket, but I have not found one on a single basket. How do you load and tamp 7 grams into a the shallow portion of a basket? I have provided the step by step problems/questions I have run into:
