Coffee houses start allowing women and men to congregate together in Saudi Arabia
As a Saudi member of this forum, some(most) of the opinions and sentiments expressed in this thread so far about my country and culture are simply hurtful to me. They hurt because I expected more sophistication and nuance from fellow HB'ers; more sophistication than what's usually oversimplified in ...

Versalab M3 alignment kit
The originally suggested cost of $50+shipping was an important point for me. I'm not really interested in acquiring high quality equipment, I just want my high quality grinder perfectly aligned at the least cost. If not providing a kit, can you list the needed supplies from the least costly options?...

Versalab M3 alignment kit
Possibilities: - Maybe not many old VL owners visit HB frequently? Maybe email them directly? - Maybe they got used to the taste or lost hope? Maybe email them directly? - Maybe a demo video would attract more attention and get people talking? For one, I sure hope this kit can get mine perfectly ali...

Versalab M3 alignment kit
If the kit can get my 2008 VL as aligned as the latest ones, I'm definitely interested at that price. Shipping my old VL across the globe to get it aligned & updated costs waaaaay too much. A well-priced kit that gets my 2008 VL to perform like the best of the newer ones would be super awesome!

Electromechanical Relay for a 1999 ECM Giotto
That's the one, it matches photos the old owner sent me and I can see the RL 30 writing on mine too. The thin 3rd wire on the pressurestat is weird indeed. I wonder if someone here has seen such a thing before. I bought the relay you used but unfortunately I won't be able to take the sides

Electromechanical Relay for a 1999 ECM Giotto
Very clear answers, I'm now ready! Thank you so much Pat! I don't think I have an indicator lamp, there's only one lamp for power and it's always on. I traced this third p-stat wire (brownish-grey) by hand and it connects to the controller. Maybe it's carrying a control signal to the relay inside th...

Electromechanical Relay for a 1999 ECM Giotto
Thanks for a helpful reply, Pat.... Glad to learn that my wiring scheme isn't the most problematic one, thanks. This is interesting! On my machine low water sensing is disabled! I wonder why they did that? I've seen your post before but I think I need a little more help understanding how it takes th...

Electromechanical Relay for a 1999 ECM Giotto
But how do I rearrange the machine wiring so the controller and p-stat aren't bearing much of the load?

Electromechanical Relay for a 1999 ECM Giotto
Hello! I recently bought a used 1999 ECM Giotto and the seller told me he just replaced the controller for around $300; something I want to avoid redoing for as long as possible! Researching this machine, it seems some of the ones as old as mine put the heating element load thru the controller and s...

My name is Shawn
Thanks for this Shawn, now my grinder collection* sounds a little bit less ridiculous * a Versalab, Nuova Simonelli MDX, OE Pharos, Bunn LPG with Ditting burrs, Nuova Simonelli Grinta, vintage Zassenhaus, and a Turkish Sozen grinder. All acquired (and retained ) at the rate of one/year or so
