Can the connection to the switch be modified? That is, instead of a male-female connection, can a screw type connection be used? Are the newer creminas using make-female connection?

Is the above microswitch adequate?

Thanks for the knowledge! Check out this microswitch {link} Looks like it should work Also, I'm not sure I know why the plastic melted Is it because the switch is bad and the boiler was too hot and melted the plastic? Something else?

I have not tested the thermometer also, in the interest of time (I cant be without the cremina any longer), how much is a new microswitch and wiring? where can I buy these parts?

With multimeter on pstat, when I click the pstat, the ohms go to infinity

Removed the leads from the pstat When I test the pstat with the multimeter, I get 0 ohms Is the melted area causing a short that in turn causes the heating element to not turn off?

{image}Tubing leading to the pstat is clear (both ends) I descaled about 6 months ago For the most part I use distiller water The plastic around the pstat terminal has melted (can't seem to upload picture from my iPhone) I wonder if this is causing a short?

Opened my Cremina Seems like the pstat moves freely I tested the heating element with a multimeter I get 0 ohms I guess there is no short with the heating element? Any other ideas?
