Vacuum storage harmful?
One important thing to consider is your definition of 'vacuum-sealed' I occasionally 'vacuum-seal' beans at home using a food-saver. The foodsaver is just a pump that sucks air out of the bag and then seal it. The beans are not 'under-vacuum' meaning without atmospheric pressure. However, using a ch...

Grinder recommendation for pourover and Aeropress?
You could also take that $300 and head to Craigslist. A Bunn G1/2/3 or equivalent would beat anything else below $700 and they can easily be found for $100 if you look hard enough

Rancilio MD50 considered a "Titan Grinder"?
I've used a MD50 before, extensively, and never would have guess that it costs that much money. The dosing mechanism is cheap and plasticky, as is most of the grinder. The grind adjustment is weird as well. I'd take a SJ (or a NS MDX) any day over an MD50

Slate.com: How to make amazing coffee at home, even if you're cheap and lazy
My thoughts exactly. French press has to be the simplest way. Slate is known for having pretty sh**ty articles. I typically will skim the article and head straight for the comment section to see people tear it apart

Good option for second grinder (drip)
+1 Or, if you have the space, a craigslist Bunn G1 or similar will be a fantastic grinder around the same price as a Baratza

A Beautiful WDT Collar Coming this Fall
This looks about as useful as those Scottie Callaghan dosing scraper things. I would never use something like this in my cafe, an unnecessary extra step, just like the 'chicago chop' or any number of other passé "techniques". Not sure what cafes you frequent but most any barista that calls themselve...

Espresso in snifters
Who cares what Mark Prince thinks about anything? Not trying to be rude, this came across my radar via Sprudge. My thought is that the sheer jawdropping amount of tweeting Mark did regarding this topic (and people's reactions to it) smacks of an overinflated sense of self-importance. What's up with ...
